I've contacted Ed Hamrick about the multiscan issue I have with the ProScan 7200. I would suggest scanning in 48-bit color and doing corrections in Photoshop. The scans above have a strong magenta cast. Looks like you also need to work on color correction as well. And viewing the scan onscreen as a full image is not a particularly good way to judge sharpness anyway. Scans always need a certain amount of sharpening to look their best, too, and in my experience you are much better off doing it in Photoshop after scanning, since you'll need to do output sharpening for your final print size anyway. If there is no focusing option (surprising), careful positioning of the film in the holder is essential. In any case, the preview is not a very good judge of sharpness, since it's just a small screen-res image. I'm not familiar with this scanner, but there's certainly a learning curve to getting good results, particularly with Vuescan, which doesn't have the most user-friendly interface in my opinion. I get much better images from my beloved 4MP Sigma DP2 and I really was expecting better performence from this 3600DPI scanner with VueScan.
